Nutrition labelling requirements in Uzbekistan
Packaged food sold in Uzbekistan must carry a nutrition declaration under O'zDSt 3009:2015 + CoM Decree No. 490 (07.07.2017). This page covers the Uzbekistan - O'zDSt 3009:2015 format: Uzbek (Latin/Cyrillic) per O'ZTTSA + CoM Decree 490. A compliant Uzbek nutrition label declares 4 mandatory nutrients: energetik qiymat (energy), oqsillar (protein), yog'lar (fat) and uglevodlar (carbohydrate). Values are declared per 100 g or 100 ml, with energy in both kcal and kJ, and sodium rather than salt. The panel is headed "Oziq-ovqat qiymati (Nutritional Value)". UZ-LATN and UZ-CYRL must both appear on pack. There is no mandatory front-of-pack warning scheme. NFL builds a print-ready Uzbek nutrition label from your recipe, applying the rounding rules and reference intakes for Uzbekistan automatically, and exports it as PDF, PNG, SVG, JPG or EPS.
Official regulation
Key facts
Uzbekistan food labelling requirements under the food safety law
The legal basis for food labels in Uzbekistan is the Law "On the Quality and Safety of Food Products", which is in force. It makes a label or insert mandatory for packaged food, dietary supplements and food additives. Under Article 12, the mandatory particulars include:
- the name of the food and the manufacturer;
- ingredients, including food additives;
- nutritional value;
- grade, where one applies;
- storage conditions, date of manufacture and shelf life;
- mass or quantity; and
- the number of the normative or technical document the product is made to.
Extra particulars are mandatory for specialised foods and food additives. Unlike Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan is not an EAEU member, so the EAEU labelling regulation TR TS 022/2011 does not apply here as law.
Uzbekistan nutrition label and the technical regulation
Nutritional value is a mandatory label item under Article 12 of the food safety law. The law does not itself set a panel layout or a full list of nutrients.
The detailed rules came from the General Technical Regulation on the safety of food products in terms of labelling, approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 490. It set out how energy, protein, fat and carbohydrate are declared, per 100 g or 100 ml and optionally per portion. Official sources report that Resolution No. 490 has been repealed and that the Uzbekistan Technical Regulation Agency has published a proposed replacement food labelling regulation, so the detailed format is transitional. Check the current text on lex.uz before relying on the old layout.
We could not confirm O'z DSt 3009:2015 as a food labelling standard in official sources, so this page relies on the law and technical regulation instead.

Uzbekistan food label language requirements
Consumer information about goods is mandatory in the state language, Uzbek, under the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights". Other languages, such as Russian or English, may be added voluntarily alongside the Uzbek text.
Uzbek is written in both Latin and Cyrillic script in practice; the law requires the state language without tying food labels to one script.
Uzbekistan imported food labelling and who regulates it
Imported food must meet Uzbekistan's food safety norms and rules, and the supplier must provide the documents needed to show the food is safe. For imported consumer goods covered by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 22, marking in the state language is mandatory, and the importer must provide for it in the import contract before the goods arrive.
State control of food quality and safety is shared. The sanitary and epidemiological service supervises food safety, while the Uzbekistan Technical Regulation Agency handles standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment and is drafting the new labelling regulation.
